FIRE DRILLS

When the fire alarm sounds or instructions to evacuate the building are given over the P.A. system, the following is considered the safest and fastest method of leaving the building:  students should stay close together, walk fast without talking, and remain in close groups as they leave the building and report to the designated safe area where the teacher will take roll.  When a hand signal is given, students are to regroup with their assigned teachers and return to class.  Use both sides of double door exits.  In case a door or exit is blocked, use the next closest exit.  Sounding a false fire alarm is a violation of the code of Virginia and will be dealt with accordingly.
