I grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia (Part of the DelMarVa Peninsula). My parent’s house is on the Chesapeake Bay so I have always had a great love for the water and water sports. While growing up, I played all of the sports that were available to me in school, such as Soccer, Football, Baseball, Basketball, and Track and Field. This love for activity inspired me to become a P. E. teacher.
I graduated from Virginia Tech in December of 2004. Since then I have been teaching in Montgomery County. For my first year as a teacher I taught at Margaret Beeks Elementary. For the past five years I was split between Auburn Elementary and Auburn Middle schools. I am extremely excited to be at Auburn Elementary and Falling Branch this year. This allows me to work with my favorite age group all the time! I feel very young at heart so it is easy for me to relate and communicate with the younger ages. I work towards having a fun and nurturing environment in my classroom while trying to instill the skills and attitudes it takes to be a lifelong physically fit person.
