Kelly Pleasant: Fourth Grade Teacher kpleasant@mcps.org
I grew up in the Tidewater area of the state. I have been teaching 4th grade at GLE for over 6 years. I graduated from Virginia Tech in 1984 and returned to Radford University in 1997 to become certified to teach. I love teaching 4th grade because the kids are at a perfect age and the curriculum is exciting.

I have taught fourth grade at both Botetourt County Schools and Covington City Schools. I also taught at The Achievement Center, a school for students with learning disabilities for several years. Originally, I hail from New Jersey. I came to Virginia to attend Roanoke College where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology. After graduating I decided that I loved teaching, so I decided to attend Hollins University to acquire my Masters of Education degree and teaching license. I look forward to many more years at GLE!!!

I first began teaching in an inner-city school in Knoxville where I taught 2nd and 4th grade. I then taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade in a suburban school in Knoxville. I recently moved to Blacksburg, and am extremely excited to be teaching 4th grade at GLE!!
