I am from Fairfax,Virginia. I came to work for MCPS in 2001. I have my undergraduate degree in English from VT, and my master's in Education from George Mason University. I have taught English for over 15 years. I have been a teacher in Tanzania, East Africa, Washington, D.C. , Fairfax County, VA and Montgomery County, Va.    I have been teaching for over 20 years. My undergraduate work was completed at VT with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I completed my graduate work at RU in 2007 with a Masters in Reading. In 2011, I transitioned from being a first grade classroom teacher to the position of reading specialist. It's the best job because I get to work with students from all grade levels and watch them become great readers!  My husband and I live in Christiansburg. We have two daughters and a granddaughter.

I have been teaching for approximately 20 years. My hometown is Elkhart, IN.  I have a Bachelor of Music degree from St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, IN and a Master's degree of teaching from Indiana University. I hold a Level III Schulwerk Certificate of music education.

I started teaching grade 4 in 1976 at GLE.  Later I taught about 10 years in third grade.  I started as library media specialist at GLE in 2002.   I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in elementary education from Ohio University, a Master’s degree in elementary administration from Radford University, and a Virginia library media specialist license from Radford University.

My first teaching assignment was at Blacksburg Middle School in 1981.  I began teaching elementary PE (grades K-5) at GLE in 1986. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education in K-12.  Two of the programs I coordinate are our introductory bowling lessons, culminating in a day of bowling at the NRV Superbowl, and GLE's annual Field Day activities every May.

I have been teaching for over 26 years.  The first fifteen years I taught learning disabled children in both a resource room and a self-contained classroom at Christiansburg High School and at GLE.  The opportunity came up to move to a regular classroom and here I’ve been in fifth grade since that time.  My hometown is Pittsburg, PA. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary Ed/Special education with endorsements in learning disabilities, social maladjustments, and emotional disturbances from Slippery Rock State College and a Master of Science in reading from Radford University.
