Important Reminders
Grades 3-8 and EOC
On Friday 4/19/12, the VDOE released a new resource that allows students to practice using the
mathematics tools that they will see within TestNav during SOL Testing. Please note that this is a
different resource from the ePAT updates released last month, although it is posted to the same
VDOE web page as the ePAT and Teacher Guides.
Of particular interest to Geometry teachers, the EOC Mathematics Practice tools provide multiple
opportunities for students to practice constructions.
Grades 3-8 and EOC
All teachers should review the Teacher Guide for the electronic Practice Assessment Tool (ePAT)
and make certain that all students are familiar with the Technology-Enhanced Item (TEI) formats
and the new online testing tools, including the new formula sheets for Grades 6-8, Algebra I,
Geometry, and Alg. II. If you need assistance accessing the ePAT, please contact your Instructional
Technology Resource Teacher.
Algebra I and Algebra II
All teachers should review the VDOE Technical Assistance Documents for Algebra I Standard A.9
and Algebra II Standard AII.11.
