Mark Baetz was named principal at Christiansburg Middle School today. Baetz has served as the school’s assistant principal since 2009.

“I have enjoyed getting to know the students and families at CMS and am thrilled to continue working with them in this new role,” said Baetz.

“Mr. Baetz has a proven track record of success at CMS,” said Brenda Blackburn, division superintendent. “His appointment as principal will simultaneously bring both a fresh perspective and continuity for the school.”

Baetz received his master’s degree in educational leadership from Radford University and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics education from Virginia Tech.
