This week Montgomery County residents were mailed the 2018 Spring Newsletter from Montgomery County Public Schools. The newsletter provides statistical information about MCPS and highlights of MCPS programs and initiatives. This is the first year that the newsletter was mailed directly to residents.

“More than 60% of residents in Montgomery County do not have children in our schools,” said Superintendent Mark Miear. “This newsletter is one way that we can communicate directly with that population to show them the great things that are happening in our school system.”

“Our communication program is ever-evolving,” said Brenda Drake, public information officer. “We found funds for the newsletter by eliminating other publications and systems. Next year, we hope to utilize sponsorship opportunities to provide additional funds to grow our print publications.”

“We want people to believe in our school system and the work that we are doing to prepare students for the future,” said Superintendent Mark Miear. “We have to show them the work so that they can support the work. This newsletter is one way to reach residents who are not already following our activities on Twitter and Facebook.”

The newsletter is available on the MCPS website in addition to being mailed to all resident in Montgomery County.
