Summer Maintenance

Before leaving for the summer, please remember to delete any files from the h drive that you will not use again and save (to a CD or a Flash drive) any files you wish to keep.  The technology department will remove classroom teachers’ files during summer maintenance as well as all students’ h drive files.

Classroom computers will not be reconfigured during summer maintenance; individual classroom software does not need to be stacked beside the computer.

Any questions should be forwarded to your technology resource teacher.

Email Info

Mailbox sizes should not exceed 20 megabytes, so remember to delete unneeded messages in your email box, including those in folders, on a weekly basis.

Annual maintenance will be performed on the email server this summer.  All messages older than July 1, 2005 will be deleted.

Spam

Reminder:  The Spam folder will be deleted on the 28th of each month.  Do not forget to look in the Spam folder and see if there are any emails you want to read or keep.

Laptops

At the end of this school year all laptops will be collected and inventoried.  You will need to back up any files saved on the laptop’s hard drive that you want to keep.  Please label both your laptop and laptop case before turning it in.  Click on this link (http://www.mcps.org/admin/Technology/Newsletter/laptop2006.pdf ) to download the form.  Complete it and include it in the laptop case.  Technology will be performing Windows and Virus updates.

See building administration regarding drop off location. Nurses, Special Education, and Gifted Education will turn their laptops in to their home school.

Last Day Before Leaving School

Turn both your monitor and computer off.
