Please take time to review your school website to be sure
the following items are included:

contact information:
- Address
- Phone
number
- Directions
to school or a link to MapQuest
- Faculty
and staff email addresses
- Calendar
that includes major district events (i.e. early releases, report cards,
etc.)
- Food
Menus (link to MCPS menu)
- Daily
schedule (school start time & end time, tardy bell, lunch times)
- Major
school event highlights
- Accreditation
information
- Examples
may include:
- Link
to school report card
- Accreditation
message from principal
- Picture
of principal
- Message
from principal
- School
websites (school webpages) must reside on the
MCPS web server
- TRTs
are available to assist in the development and evaluation of school web
pages.
Best Practices:
- Pages
should be kept simple. Some readers
have dial-up connections to the Internet.
- Keep
“clicks” to a minimum
- ONLY MCPS
employees should be creating and editing webpages
- MCPS
computers are configured with Internet Explorer version 7. Therefore pages should be written for
that configuration.
- Use
caution when posting teacher pages to external sites
