COLLEGE PLANNING CALENDAR JUNIOR YEAR

SEPTEMBER

Register for the PSAT/NMSQT

Begin meeting with college representatives.

 

OCTOBER

Register for the PSAT/NMSQT

Take the PSAT/NMSQT

Attend the College Fair/
College Night programs

NOVEMBER

Consider taking the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery)

Register/pay for AP exams

National Career Development Month

 

DECEMBER

Meet with counselor to discuss results of PSAT/NMSQT

Attend a financial aidworkshop

 

JANUARY

Begin college search and research

Register by mail or online for spring SAT I/SAT II and/or ACT

 

FEBRUARY

Plan senior course selections with counselor

Consider an AP class

Plan a mentorship or internship for senior year

 

MARCH

Begin service academy and ROTC applications

 

APRIL

Take SAT I and/or ACT

Attend college fairs

Visit college campuses during spring break

Begin/continue scholarship search (e.g. Internet, scholarship bulletins)

Take the TOEFL if applicable

Take SAT I/SAT II and/or ACT

Take Advanced Placement exams
