Montgomery County Public Schools Launches a New Web Page

On July 1, MCPS launched a new web page.  Superintendent Tiffany Anderson’s goal was to capture the vision and focus of the district while updating the web page.  Dr. Anderson said the technology team worked hard to capture that vision and focus.  "After looking at the web pages of several benchmark districts in April, we began the work of creating a website focused on students.  The goal was to have the website launched by July 1," said Dr. Anderson.   The MCPS website is another tool dedicated to sharing information about what the district is accomplishing and highlighting students and staff.  In March, Dr. Anderson added a link for the community called, "Ask the Superintendent."  The link gave the community direct access to the superintendent.  While the link was a great new feature, it was just the beginning.  The new web page is a total makeover from what was posted previously.  The focus is clearly on students.  In the weeks ahead, the curriculum coordinators will be adding the new curriculum to their links on the new web page to enable parents to see what students should be learning at the end of each grade and see what students will be assessed on at the end of the year.  Testing results will also be added as a link to the web page as will information that will help families become familiar with the state test and state standards.  "It is so exciting to bring to life the ideas we get from working with teachers, students and families.  This new page really captures our focus on students and addresses many of the ideas that were given to me early on from students and staff.  The MCPS technology department did an excellent job and worked hard to bring this vision to life in a short period of time," said Dr. Anderson.
