Montgomery County Public Schools Pays Tribute to Those Impacted by the Tragedy at Virginia Tech

Montgomery County Public Schools is taking time today to pay tribute to those impacted by the tragedy last year at Virginia Tech. All schools will have a moment of silence and allow time for students and staff to reflect and share words of inspiration. Ribbons have been placed on the Hokie Trees of Hope that were planted at each school last year. There is also an increased presence of local police authorities in schools this week to emphasize safety.

Staff at the School Board Office gathered at the flagpole in the front of the building today at 10:25 a.m. for a moment of silence in memory of the Virginia Tech victims.

“Our goal is to be as supportive as possible for our students and staff,” said Superintendent Dr. Tiffany Anderson.
