Dear Montgomery County Families and Community Members,

Welcome to the Montgomery County Public School system. We are a district with a tradition of excellence in education being provided in an inclusive setting for all students.

Over the past year, we celebrated so many accomplishments by our students and staff as numerous teachers achieved National Board Certification.  In addition, several other teachers received state honors in the areas of art, math, and the gifted program. Montgomery County Public School students were honored in athletics, the fine arts, forensics, and in academic competitions in various areas.  We are also excited about the many achievements ahead for the 2007-2008 school year.

Our theme this year is “Students First! Growing Together and Learning for Life.” Through continuous improvement efforts and by differentiating instruction to meet the needs of each student, we prepare students to be lifelong learners that are problem solvers ready to contribute as productive citizens. 

I look forward to meeting the many Montgomery County families as I visit schools and attend school events each week.  The 2007-2008 school year will be an outstanding school year filled with many great achievements and exciting activities across the district.
