Steps to backup your Moodle course:
- Go to
the “Administration” section of your Moodle home page. Click the “+” sign if the Administration
field is closed.
- Uncheck
any box of an item you do not want in your backup. Unless you want to keep all of your
students work, you will probably want to uncheck the data boxes.
- Metacourse
should say “no,” unless you made your course a metacourse when you first
created it.
- If you
don’t want user data, click “none”.
- Click “Yes”
or “No” for Logs depending on whether or not you want to keep data in
Logs.
- Click
“Yes” or “No” for User depending on whether or not you want to keep data
in User Files.
- Click
“Yes” or “No” for Course files depending on whether or not you want to
keep data in Course files.
- Review
all fields you have checked or unchecked, then click “Continue”.
- A
verification page will be displayed for you to review. Once complete, click “Continue”.
- Another
verification page will be displayed of all items being backed up. Once complete, click “Continue”.
- Check
the appropriate box on the left side of page. This will be the data you are backing
up. Then click “Upload a File”.
- Once
you have completed this, the Course will be backed up on the Moodle
server.
