 Summer Maintenance

Before leaving for the summer, please remember to delete any files from the h drive that you will not use again.  Although the technology department will not remove classroom teachers’ files during summer maintenance, all student h drive files will be deleted.

Since classroom computers will be reconfigured during summer maintenance, individual classroom software should be stacked beside the machine onto which it is to be loaded.  Any special concerns or instructions should be forwarded to your technology coordinator.

If you have a MCPS laptop you must turn in the laptop, case, power supply, and the Ethernet cable as part of the year-end checkout procedures.  Be sure that you complete the Summer 2005 Laptop Maintenance form and leave it with the laptop.  Also, label both the laptop and the laptop bag with your name and school.  Principals will designate a secure location where all laptops should be left.  The form is posted at http://www.mcps.org/admin/technology/newsletter/laptopform.html.

Email Info

Annual maintenance will be performed on the email server this summer.  Any messages older than July 1, 2004 will be deleted.  Even though this procedure is performed yearly, we ask that you delete unneeded messages in your email box, including those in folders, on a weekly basis.

Summer Staff Development

The summer staff development catalog can be accessed at http://www.mcps.org/admin/staff_dev/2005_summer_catalog.pdf.  You can also access the catalog from the MCPS homepage by clicking on the staff button, then clicking on Staff Development.
