WELCOME TO AUBURN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S MAIN OFFICE HOME PAGE

Welcome to the office of Auburn Elementary School! We have four people in the main office.  Mr. Kenny Moles is the principal and Ms. Amy Williams is the assistant principal.  Mrs. Carolyn Jones is the administrative assistant.  Mrs. Melissa Lester is our half time clerical aide.  Both of these ladies keep our school running like a well oiled machine.  We are always looking for volunteers to help in the office.  Please call us at 540-381-6521 if you can help.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

We have been given a tremendous responsibility and honor as educators. We are charged with educating children, one of the most noble and rewarding professions. The staff, administration, and faculty at Auburn are fully committed to providing the best possible educational opportunities for each child under our charge. We hold the firm belief that each child can learn and has considerable value to contribute to our school and community. We also possess the firm conviction that is our duty, responsibility, and privilege to ensure that each child is able to reach his or her potential

We will be diligent in our efforts to help each child experience considerable growth and success at our school. We will do everything within our power to help each child grow socially, physically, emotionally, and intellectually. We will measure our success by determining whether or not our children grow up to be productive citizens, responsible employees, honest individuals, faithful friends, good mothers and fathers, and respectful sons and daughters.

Kenny Moles, Principal

Ed.S

Originally from the coalfields and mountains of West Virginia, I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education from Concord College and my Master’s and Educational Specialist degrees in Educational Leadership from Virginia Tech.  Before coming to AES, I  taught in three states, including VA, and served as a principal intern at Margaret Beeks Elementary School in Blacksburg.  I am married to a wonderful lady named Sara and she too is a school teacher.  My wife and I have one child, Madilyn, as well as a dog named Reagan.  I love sports of all types but mostly enjoy a good round of golf.

Amy E. Williams, Assistant Principal

M.S.

After graduating from Christiansburg High School, I attended Radford University and obtained my B.S. degree in Criminal Justice and my M.S. degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I then spent several years teaching at the elementary and middle school levels, most of which was in Floyd County. During this time I returned to Radford University in 2003 and completed my administrative endorsement requirements in December of 2005. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and dog, Charlotte, especially if it involves being outdoors. I am excited to be a part of AES and am looking forward to a fantastic year!

Carolyn Jones, Administrative Assistant

I was born and reared in Floyd County and graduated from Floyd County High School.  I began working at Blue Ridge Bank as a teller.  I then took off a couple of years when I had my first child. I began working as a half time clerical aide at Auburn Elementary School in the fall of 1999.  In March of 2000 I became the Administrative Assistant.  I have two sons who both attend Auburn Schools.  I enjoy sewing, cross-stitching,  attending my sons' athletic events, and taking care of my family.  I currently reside in Christiansburg.

Melissa Lester, Clerical Aide

I was born and raised in the New River Valley and am a graduate of Auburn high School.  I currently reside in Riner along with my husband and four daughters, 3 of which attend AES.  Before coming to Auburn I was employed by First National Bank for 12 years.  After that I took time off to be with my children and be a "full-time" mom.  While at home with my children I also volunteered as well as substituted in the front office of AES.  In 2003 I was blessed with the opportunity to work at Auburn on a more regular basis and have enjoyed it greatly.  In my spare time I enjoy decorating cakes, painting ceramics, working with flowers, boating, and just being with my family.
