EAGLE PRIDE NEWS

Welcome to the first issue of The Eagle’s Eye.  The PTSO is excited to work together with students and faculty to bring you AHS news.  You can expect to see The Eagle’s Eye two more times this school year.  The purpose of this newsletter is to provide you with information about events, achievements and special happenings here at AHS.  If you have AHS news that you would like to share please contact Carolyn Jones at cjones3@mail.mcps.org.

Did you know?

Did you know that the PTSO works to support students, faculty and the Auburn High community?  The PTSO raises much needed funds through concession sales and our Fall and Spring Community Yard Sales.  This fall we had over 25 individuals\families participate in the yard sale.  Concessions have been busy at every football and volleyball game.  During this time the PTSO netted about $5,000.

This allowed us to fund specific requests for the athletic department as well as help both the Scholastic Bowl Team and the Journalism Club as they attended competitions and conferences.

Basketball season is just around the corner.  Concessions could use your help. Volunteers are needed for  Middle School, JV or Varsity games.  Contact Linda Naughton at 641-5366 or Joyce Clower at jclower@mail.mcps.org to volunteer.

The PTSO also needs parents to participation on our scholarship committee.

This committee would help in the selection process for qualifying seniors. Seniors are eligible to receive a $200.00 scholarship from Eagle Pride, which is given out at graduation.  If you are interested, please contact Linda Naughton.

Membership

It’s not too late to join the PTSO.  Membership is $1 for individuals or $3 for a family.   We meet the first Monday of every month at 7:00 pm in the AHS library. With your input we can continue the work that supports your child’s school.
