The Fall Scholastic Book Fair will be held November 7th through 11th. Parent volunteers are welcome and needed! Please email Mrs. Rainey if you'd like to help out. Classes will visit the fair during the school day and there will be two opportunities for after-school family visits. More information will be sent home closer to the event.

Library News
Mrs. Rainey had the opportunity to attend the ALA Annual Conference this summer. While there, she was able to meet MANY authors and illustrators. This resulted in lots of new books for Belview, signed by authors and illustrators! Most of these extra-special books are now being checked-out by students and teachers.

Student Projects BES students have been hard at work on many creative projects. Check out some of their work from the 2010-11 school year. Fourth Grade Wordless Book Videos - The students wrote text to accompany a variety of wordless picture books and created video narrations. |
More Library News 4th and 5th grade students have the opportunity to apply to be library aides each September. About 25 students chose to apply this year and are now involved in assisting Mrs. Rainey and their classmates during their library class. These aides make the librarian's job much easier and I am very appreciative for their assistance with tasks, such as circulating, sorting and re-shelving books, helping peers with catalog searches, and straightening the bookshelves. Thank you, 4th and 5th graders, for being so responsible and willing to help! |
