IN-SCHOOL SUPERVISION

The purpose of the ISS program is to give the administration an alternative disciplinary action to Out-Of-School Suspension (OSS).  The following procedures serve as guidelines for the ISS program:

*  Students will remain in school with an ISS coordinator, supervising students at all times.

*  Students will attend all their classes in a designated area isolated from other students.

*  Students will be expected to complete all assigned classwork.  Failure to complete work while in ISS may be reflected in the students’ daily grade.

Athletes in Virginia High School League competitive activities should refer to BHS team rules pertaining to ISS/OSS/Sat. School.

A student may not serve more than 8 ISS days per school year.  A parent or student may opt for Saturday School in lieu of ISS.  Failure to show for an assigned Saturday School may result in ISS or OSS, whichever the Saturday School was substituted for.
