The Blacksburg Middle School guidance office is staffed by Ms. Michele Parker, Ms. Tammy Heft and Ms. Laura Poff.  Ms. Lori Walls is the guidance secretary and is the person to see or talk to about scheduling appointments or gathering general information about the middle school. The guidance department's major goals are fostering optimal academic, personal and career development in the early adolescent child. All of Blacksburg Middle School's guidance counselors have many years of experience in working with early adolescents and are active in local and state counseling organizations.

The guidance department also oversees our BMS peer counselors better known as COAST which is an acronym for Creating Options and Solutions Team. Peer counselors are recommended by faculty and peers and are trained to help mediate peer conflicts.

Students may schedule appointments at the guidance office before or after school or between classes.
