BMS Library/Media Center Hours and Policies

 

Check-Out Policy

 

Students may check out three books or two books and one magazine.

 

Check-out period is TWO WEEKS for books and one day for magazines.

 

A Student may not check out additional items if the student has a library obligation.  Library obligations include:

·         overdue items

·         lost items

·         damaged items

 

Reference books are not checked out to students, but may be used in the library.

 

Books can be placed in the book return at the circulation desk.

 

Student Use of BMS Computer Network

 

Each BMS student is given a userid and password to access the network and the Internet.

 

These userids and passwords are private and should not be shared with anyone.

 

Each student is given access to a network drive to save school related assignments.

 

Students should save assignments to work on at home on 3 ½ floppy disks, flash drives or cd-roms.

 

Library Use

 

·         During class time:  students may come to the library with their class or individually with a signed pass from their teacher with the date, time, and purpose of visit.  Students coming to the library individually must sign in. 

·         Before school:  students must sign in and ask permission to be in the Media Center and explain the purpose of their visit.

·         After school:  students must have a pass from their 7th period teacher, sign in and explain the purpose of their visit.

·         Students must have a note from a teacher to use the computers for any purpose.

·         All 6th grade teams have scheduled time during flex each week to visit the Library/Media Center.
