BMS PTO Fundraising Policy and Major Year-long Activities
In recent years, the BMS PTA has adopted a simple, effective philosophy towards its fundraising efforts. We believe students should be students and parents should be more involved with their kids' academic interest rather than buying and selling fundraising products.
Like most public schools, the BMS PTO has needs and expenses beyond those covered by established budgets. In addition to necessary administrative costs, these expenses include funding various programs such as students awards and scholarships, cultural arts, teacher appreciation activities, the PTO Newsletter, grade level parties and field trips, Reflections, special events like the Spring Blast for the end of the school year, and much much more.
Traditional fundraising programs usually involve tiresome, repetitive solicitations, requiring considerable time, effort and attention of our students, parents and staff. Instead, we have elected to implement a simple, one time parent solicitation for voluntary contributions. Your tax-deductible contribution can be made payable to BMS PTO.
If you have already sent your contributions we are very grateful. If not please consider it very soon since we have so much to do before the end of the school year and our funds are not necessarily in great shape.
As important as financial gifts are, nothing replaces your personal involvement in your child's education and school. Your ideas, talents, and time, in addition to financial gifts are all greatly appreciated and necessary to continue to achieve the quality education all our children deserve.
