I
was born in Concord, Massachusetts and still have lots of family around the
Boston area. I moved 13 times before graduating high school. This allowed me
to live in many states up and down the east coast. My favorite state is Virginia.
I moved to Blacksburg my senior year in high school. I graduated from Radford
University with a degree in art education and I am certified to teach art k-12.
This is my 21st year of teaching. I have been here at CES for 20 of those years. I taught my first year in the Roanoke School system. Montgomery County began the elementary art program the next year, and I was one of three art teachers hired. Our program has grown tremendously with the support of this community and school system.
I enjoy making pottery and
painting. I live on a farm in Giles County, which keeps me very busy. I have
cows, horses, cats, and two very happy dogs. The New River is a few miles from
home and I enjoy kayaking and fishing every free moment I find.
