I am in my
third year teaching here at CES. I was born in Sarasota, Florida, but consider
myself a native of the New River Valley due to the fact that I have lived
here since I was a little boy. As a former student at Christiansburg Elementary
School, I look forward to making CES a positive learning atmosphere for today's
students just as it was for me many years ago.
After graduating from Christiansburg High School, I received
my bachelor's degree from Radford University in exercise and sport science.
I continued my education at Mary Baldwin College, getting my elementary education
license in their adult degree program. I am very fortunate to have gained
some great friends and mentors here in Montgomery County. I am forever grateful
to those from whom I have learned.
When I am not busy planning, grading papers, or in meetings,
I enjoy spending time with my wife of five years, Cari. We spend most of our
free time playing with our little poodle, Annie. Cari and I enjoy volunteering
at our church as well as hanging out with our friends from The Bridge Worship
Center. We are big Hokie fans and attend every game. I am also a big Florida
Gator fan. Go Gators!
My brother Mark is in the Navy Reserves and we are very proud of him for his service to our country. My parents are Randy and Debbie Vest. We visit their house often for free meals!!!
