Denise Washington

I was born and raised in the "Big Easy" New Orleans, LA. I graduated from Xavier University of New Orleans in Education. I have 1 son named Deron Washington, who is #13 for the Men's Hokie Basketball Team.

My teaching career spans 21 years. I've taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, 7th & 8th Special Education and Health & Physical Education. I've taught in New Orleans, Missouri and now Virginia. I am also a Realtor with Coldwell Bankers Townside.

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, I was swished away from my hometown and washed up here in the New River Valley. I hope to have a rewarding teaching experience in Virginia.
