I
am a native of Riner, VA and am very glad to be teaching
here at Christiansburg Elementary. I am a graduate of Virginia Tech with degrees
in Political Science and Communication. After earning my Master’s Degree in
English Communication I decided that I wanted to teach at the Elementary level
and earned my Teaching Licensure from Radford University. I am qualified to
teach grades Pre-K-6 and have previously taught Kindergarten in Henrico County.
I am a member of the Montgomery County Education Association (MCEA) and currently am designing their newsletter. I also am a member of the CPS/CES Science Design Team. Some of my favorite hobbies are attending Virginia Tech Football Games (I am a lifelong Hokie), curling up with a book, or enjoying the outdoors in Montgomery County.
I believe that teaching is the most rewarding profession because you get to help shape a child’s future. I really enjoy helping to build a child’s self confidence and independence because then you know that they can be successful. It is such a pleasure to see the smile on a child’s face when he or she accomplishes something new.
