Welcome to the CES Clinic

Janie Heatwole, BSN, RN, CES Nurse
As
a child, I grew up on my family’s dairy farm in Dayton, Virginia. My outdoor
chores included bottle-feeding the newborn calves, gathering eggs, and carrying
water to the animals. I loved riding bikes with my five older siblings up and
down the quiet country road by my home. I also enjoyed many long hours of reading
on our front porch swing in the summer.
My husband is a professor of engineering at VT. We have three daughters -- the older two were married this past summer. Our oldest daughter is living in North Carolina while she finishes OT graduate school at UNC-Chapel Hill. Our middle daughter is living in Camden, New Jersey where she and her husband are teaching school. Our youngest daughter is a freshman at Eastern Mennonite University. We have two cats, Bums and Brie. My favorite hobby is traveling! I also enjoy music, cooking various cuisines, volleyball, reading, knitting, taking care of my houseplants, gardening and canning.
In 1983, I graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with a BS in Nursing. We lived in Gainesville, FL for three years before moving to Christiansburg in 1986. I started working part-time at CES in 1992 as an administrative aide while our children were young. In 2003, I began working for MCPS as a school nurse -- and I love it! The CES faculty, staff, students and parents are wonderful and I feel privileged to be a part of this educational community.
