BS Radford University
MS Radford University
As a native of Christiansburg I started my public school education at Weller Baker Elementary School in Cambria. I attended the school that is now Independence Secondary for 6th grade and attended 7th grade in the wing of the old CMS that borders Radford Road. My high school career began in the old CMS building for grades nine and ten, and then I went to the current Christiansburg High School for my junior and senior years.
I attended Bluefield College in Bluefield, Virginia and later transferred to Radford University to finish my studies to be an elementary school teacher. I have been fortunate to teach grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. I have taught in McDowell County, West Virginia and in the counties of Giles, Chesterfield, and Montgomery in Virginia. This is the beginning of my 28th year of learning from the young people I serve.
I currently work as a Reading Specialist at Christiansburg Elementary School. I enjoy working with a variety of students in grades three, four, and five.
I love to travel, work in my vegetable and flower gardens, and read. My family of more than 20 aunts and uncles and over 50 cousins are a joy to me. I have two sons and a very devoted husband who also keep my life interesting.
