The Wildlife Club is comprised of students and teachers who are interested in learning about wildlife in Virginia and finding ways to appreciate and protect it. Club members and sponsors maintain the CES outdoor learning environment which includes the courtyard, pond, flower borders, and gardens. New planting projects are added each year to enhance the beauty of the school grounds, create a friendly habitat for wildlife, and serve as an outdoor classroom for all students. The club sponsors field trips for members and their families and hosts guest speakers at meetings throughout the year. Club members and parents participate in Stewardship Virginia and other volunteer events.

The club is open to students in third, fourth, and fifth grades, with priority given to fifth graders and past members. Meetings are held on Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m. in the multipurpose room at CES. Meetings are not held in December and January and on SOL testing days. Club sponsors are CES teachers, Mrs. Claire Burton and Mrs. Elizabeth Scott. Parent volunteers are encouraged and greatly appreciated.
