Christiansburg Primary School is located in Christiansburg, Virginia and is part of Montgomery County Public Schools. The school is comprised of grades preschool through second and consists of approximately 450 students and 58 full and part-time staff. Our school day begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:30 PM.

Educational Philosophy
Out philosophy at Christiansburg Primary School is to provide maxium growth and continuous development academically, personally, socially, and physically for each individual child as determined by his/her unique abilities. Our goals are accomplished through the use of organized and sequentially developed curriculum, a variety of teaching strategies and current learning theories. Educational specialists and community resource persons assist the faculty, staff and parents in accomplishing these goals. Each child has an opportunity to develop ethical standards of behavior in order to become a successful student, dependable family member, and patriotic citizen.
School History
Our school began in the new facilities in August 1973. The school was built to utilize an open plan concept conducive to team teaching. The school also houses a media center which provides students and staff with accessable learning materials and equipment. The multi-purpose room was built to serve as an auditorium, cafeteria, and gymnasium.
At the present time, the school consists of one preschool class, 8 kindergarten classrooms, 8 first grade classrooms, and 8 second grade classrooms. Additional educational programs offered include: Music, Library, Physical Education, Guidance, Title1/Reading Recovery, Special Education and Speech.
