WHAT WE BELIEVE:
That all school age children should be
challenged and provided with the most appropriate education
possible.
WHO ARE THE GIFTED?
Those students in public schools,
grades K-12 whose abilities and potential for accomplishment are so
outstanding that they require special programs to meet their
educational needs.
HOW ARE THE GIFTED IDENTIFIED?
Currently in
mathematics and language arts in grades
K-12 by school based committees using multiple criteria.
WHO TEACHES THE GIFTED?
The classroom teachers
assisted by twelve gifted resource teachers, one
lead teacher/ supervisor, one administrative assistant, and the entire educational
community.
WHAT DO WE DO FOR THEM?
Place them appropriately in cluster
groups with qualified teachers. Identify their needs and use
differentiation, acceleration, and enrichment to meet these needs.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Get to know the gifted resource
teacher in your school, find out about available resources, and get
in involved in your child’s learning!
