Title I is a federally funded program designed to target the academic achievement of disadvantaged students in order to ensure that all children have a fair, equal and significant opportunity to obtain a high quality education.

These supplemental reading services are delivered by highly qualified personnel in a small group and/or one-on-one setting.  Ten of the twelve elementary schools in Montgomery County are Title I schools: Auburn Elementary, Margaret Beeks Elementary, Belview Elementary, Christiansburg Primary, Christiansburg Elementary, Elliston-Lafayette Elementary, Falling Branch Elementary, Kipps Elementary, Prices Fork Elementary, and Shawsville Elementary.

Of the ten schools, four (Belview Elementary, Christiansburg Primary, Elliston-Lafayette Elementary, and Shawsville Elementary) are Schoolwide Projects which means that all students in grades K-5 are eligible for Title I services.  In the six Targeted Assisted Schools, students in grades K-3 are eligible for Title I services.
