ELES has had a Virginia Preschool Initiative classroom since August 1999. The class has 16 children who will be 4 years old before October 1 of the school year. First enrollment slots are for at-risk children who live in the ELES attendance district.
One of the goals of the preschool program in Montgomery County is to help parents identify problems and find solutions for those problems, both at home and at school.
For information about the preschool program or information about applying for enrollment,
please call the classroom at 268-2207.
Ms. Chechile
Hello! My name is Jennifer Chechile and I am very excited to be a part of the Elliston Lafayette community once again! I student taught here at Elliston two years ago and am honored to have my first teaching position here, two years later! I graduated with my B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies, certified to teach PreK-6 in 2008 from Radford University. I then decided to continue my education and graduated this past May 2009, with my M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction, from Radford University as well! I have a passion for teaching and am excited to be working with your children this year!
Ms.
Craighead
The preschool aide is Melissa Craighead. "Miss Melissa" is a favorite person of both preschoolers and former preschoolers. She is a native of Shawsville and still lives there with her husband, Paul. She has been in preschool education for twelve years; she was at Learning Links and Mini World before she came to ELES when the preschool class began.
