Prerequisite: Satisfactory achievement in Algebra II
Discrete mathematics can be thought of as the mathematics of decision-making in finite situations. Discrete mathematics is the branch of mathematics which specifically addresses situations found in the real world of business, government, and labor, such as probability, statistics, networking (routing), production and scheduling efficiency, and data analysis.

PERSONAL LIVING AND FINANCE

Grade Level: 9-12
This course is designed to teach students the skills to manage personal finances and to make sound financial decisions. Topics to be studied include preparing and balancing a personal and family budget, taxes and consumer credit, consumer rights and responsibilities, income taxes, buying a car and a home, savings and retirement planning and insurance. Only students pursuing a modified standard diploma will receive a math credit for this course. All other students will receive an elective credit for this course.
