Radford University-M.S. in counseling with a minor in psychology.
Additional 30 + graduate hours in computer, psychology, testing, school law, etc.

Taught English and Social Studies 4-6 for five years, English 7-9 for one year. Junior high guidance counselor for 5 years, an elementary counselor for 5 years, and have been a high school counselor for 19 years. She is beginning her eigth (8th) year as counselor at EMHS.
During the 2008-2009 school year, Ms. Allen has accepted the challenge of a new position in addition to her duties at EMHS. She will be serving as Lead MCPS Counselor half time this year and half time as the EMHS Counselor. A new counselor will be added to the EMHS faculty to assist Ms. Allen with her responsibilities here.
Personal Information:
She has a son, Travis, who works at the VT Corporate Research Center and a daughter, Melia, who is a registered nurse at the Johnson City Medical Center. She and her husband, Chad, live in Jonesborough, Tennessee. The joys of her life are her two grandsons, Cade who is now 4 yrs. old and Cole, who is 16 months old. Being "Mimi" is her favorite job.
