In first grade, we use
an integrated, literature based approach to balanced literacy. We
incorporate shared, guided, and self-selected reading, independent
and shared writing, and word study in our classrooms. We use cooperative
learning and a hands-on, manipulative math program. It is our goal to meet
the individual needs of each of our students.
