Gifted Education - Parent Information

Parent Resource Collection
The Office of Gifted Education in Montgomery County Public Schools is fortunate to be able to share an important resource with families of our students. We have compiled a Parent Resource Collection, which is a collection of books, reference materials, and other information that we are able to offer on a check-out basis for up to 2 weeks at a time. It is our hope that this collection of current educational and parenting resources will strengthen home and school connections and encourage our parents to participate effectively in their child’s educational development and gain knowledge about gifted learners and other topics.

Gifted Advisory Committee
This advisory committee is composed of parents, teachers, administrators, support staff, professional staff, community members, and students who reflect the ethnic and geographic composition of the school division. Gifted Advisory Committee (GAC) members are recruited to the committee through advertisements and recommendations and go through an application process. The school board approves members for terms of three years. The GAC typically meets four times a year and presents recommendations to the school board as needed. If you are interested in learning more about the GAC or serving as a member contact Diane Naff at (540)382-5190.
