Meet the Office

Welcome to the home of the Purple Panthers!  Our main office includes a host of important individuals who help Harding Avenue run smoothly.  School principal is Meggan Marshall.  Juliet Ryan, who keeps the school running smoothly, is the administrative assistant, with Mary Jane Grant as the part time clerical aide.   We also boast a variety of parent volunteers who assist in the office on a regular basis.  Additionally, the school nurse is Janet Welsh and the guidance counselor is Jennifer Baldwin.  Our special education team is also located in the office.  Kate Daby, Shawn Perry, and Ann Cross are the special education teachers, with four instructional assistants (Punia Brooks, Cynthia Wimberly, Adrienne Ryder and Mary Collins) who compliment the special education team.  Thanks to the dedicated office staff you will have a warm, friendly, and productive visit when stopping by Harding Avenue.

Meet the Principal

After attending the Christiansburg Primary, Elementary, Middle and High Schools it gives me great pleasure to be an educator and principal for Montgomery County Public Schools.   I received my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary English Education (NK – 8) from Emory and Henry College and later earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Radford University.  Before becoming an administrator, I taught 6^th, 7^th, 1^st, and Kindergarten for many years.  I am grateful for my family (husband Shawn, daughter Tucker, and son Nathan) for supporting me as I advance my education and career.  We are all looking forward to a new addition to our family this March.

 

It is such a privilege to be a member of the Harding Avenue Elementary School community this year.  I am overwhelmed by the dedication of the staff, parent and community involvement, as well as the students’ enthusiasm for school and learning!  The students, staff and parents have made my experience here truly exceptional!
