Interview with Columbus, by Paul A.
Christopher Columbus is asking for ships and money for his voyage to the Indies.
REPORTER: Do you really think that you can get to the Indies by sailing west?
COLUMBUS: No, I KNOW that I can get to the Indies by sailing west.
REPORTER: Well what will you do if you meet creatures in unknown lands?
COLUMBUS: I will try to make friends with them and see if they have gold in their land.
REPORTER: Did King John of Portugal give you the money for the voyage?
COLUMBUS: No he did not give me the money for the voyage because the king and his counselors think I am wrong, but they are wrong because going west over the Ocean Sea is a short cut!!! Sailing around Africa and then heading east is a big waste of time.
REPORTER: What are you going to do now?
COLUMBUS: I am going to go to Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand of Spain.
