Congratulations! I am pleased to inform you that you have been awarded first place in the poem by student, ages 6-8 category of the 1996 Creative Writing Contest.

You are invited to be our guest at the Fifth Annual Celebration of Children's Literature on Saturday, August 10, 1996, to be recognized publicly and to receive your award. A brochure describing all the events of Creative Writing Days is enclosed. Janet Hickman, a noted author of books for children, will present the award at 10:00 AM in the Meeting Room of the Washington County Public Library.

... As you may note, the awards ceremony will occur as part of a program featuring Janet Hickman. We hope you will enjoy the reading and discussion afterwards. Please dress comfortably and casually.
