• The Peer Mediation Program recognizes that conflict is a natural process and seeks to find peaceful solutions to problems.
  
• The Peer Mediation Program also recognizes that students can solve their own problems and that students are responsible people.

Peer mediators at Margaret Beeks provide the students of Margaret Beeks conflict resolution services by members of their own peer group.

The students are trained in the art and skills of communication and conflict resolution by Mrs. Hughston, and are on duty each day to offer assistance for students in need.

The "Peacekeepers" wear shirts that alert the students as to who is on duty each day, as well as posting their name and picture outside of Mrs. Hughston's office.
