Courses Intended for Students Pursuing New Credit

Montgomery County Public Schools is pleased to offer “new” courses for students during the summer of 2019. These courses allow qualified students to graduate early or provide opportunities for additional elective courses in the following school year’s class schedule. Students who satisfactorily complete course requirements will have these credits recorded on their MCPS transcript.

Students will complete their seat hours within the standard Summer School schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30-2:00, June 10 - June 28 at Montgomery Central. The remaining hours will be completed independently through an online program and students will have access beginning on June 3, with posted teacher office hours for support. All students will need regular access to a computer with internet availability.

  • Course fees are due by orientation night and are non-refundable (except in the event the class does not achieve minimum enrollment).

Early Graduation
This program is intended for students who have completed their Junior Year and can graduate with the completion of English 12 and VA/US Government. Students who successfully complete graduation requirements will be awarded diplomas from their home schools at a summer graduation ceremony on June 28, 2019.

  • There are no end-of-course SOL requirements.
  • All coursework must be completed by June 28, 2019.

  • All coursework is online and must be completed by June 28, 2019.
