Let me introduce myself. My name is Regina Smith and I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. I lived the first twelve years of my life in a little town called Bountiful with my parents and five siblings. From Utah we moved to Lawrence, Kansas. I spent my junior and senior high school years in Lawrence and attended Kansas University for two and a half years. Before finishing school I decided to strike out on my own and moved to Southern California in 1975. I met my husband, Sheffield, in 1978 and got married that same year. Our son, Sheffield Scott, was born in 1981 and in 1988 we moved to Virginia. I decided to go back to school in 1998 after my husband died. I finally figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wanted to be a teacher-- specifically an English teacher. I graduated, with honors, from Radford University in 2001. I recently earned a graduate degree in reading from Radford University.
My parents taught me well the need for honesty and integrity. They instilled in me the need to be respected and to treat others with respect as well. As a teacher I insist that these same values prevail in my classroom.
I have one son, three dogs, and one cat. I enjoy reading, writing, music, movies, and spending time with my son and friends.
