About Mr. David T. Gato
Mr. Gato was born in Miami, Florida. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. Mr. Gato spent the next 21 years in the United States Navy as an F-4 and F-14 Radar Intercept Officer. He retired as a commander from the Navy in 1993 and earned an Master of Science in Education from Old Dominion University just prior to his navy retirement. He subsequently taught life science and reading for 5 years with Hampton City Schools and moved to Montgomery County in 1998. He has taught at Shawsville Middle School since moving to Blacksburg. Mr. Gato is married to a retired Montgomery County school teacher, Mickey Pierce, and between them they share three grown children and a grandson. About Mr. Matthew D. Rezac
Born in Cleveland, Ohio 1971. He is the fifth of six children. Mr. Rezac graduated from Strongsville High School before attending The Ohio State University. He acquired both his Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Education. Mr. Rezac met his future wife, Jennifer, at Ohio State. She graduated and moved to Blacksburg, Virginia in 1995. Soon after, Mr. Rezac followed, and has since taught in the Montgomery County School System. Mr. Rezac enjoys reading, art, movies, sports and traveling. Penven
Mrs. Penven was born and raised in Charleston, WV. She graduated from Marshall University in 1995 with a degree in English Education. She has taught English in Charleston, WV, Wilmington, NC, and Montgomery County, VA. Mrs. Penven lives in Blacksburg with her husband, James, their two children, Savannah (eight) and Nate (six), a dog, Pupsy, and two cats, Zelda and Dominga. During her free time, Mrs. Penven enjoys reading to her kids, watching movies, shopping, scrapbooking, doing crosswords, and taking long naps. About Ms. Ann Mann
Mrs. Mann was born in Christiansburg, Virginia. She attended Montgomery County Schools and graduated from Blacksburg High School. She is a graduate of Radford University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art and Math Education. She was a secretary at Blacksburg High School for four years before starting her teaching career at Shawsville High and Middle School. She has been a teacher in the Shawsville community for 25 years. She and her husband, Charlie, have a son and a daughter. Their son is married and has four children. Their daughter is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina with a degree in Psychology and Health Promotions. Mrs. Mann loves being a Grandmother! All About Mrs. Wanda
Riddle
Wanda Riddle was born in WV and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Concord College (now Concord University). She holds a Masters degree in Special Education from Radford University. Mrs. Riddle and her husband, Gary, have 2 children. Their daughter, Brittany has her Interior Design degree from Radford University and their son, Bryce is currently attending New River Community College and is working part time.
