Included are both information for the teacher and student activities.  The activities are examples of how the Hallmarks of Excellence for Social Studies can be put into practice.  They can be used directly with students or can serve as models for teachers as they plan their own activities.

Every attempt has been made to create useful products for teachers' reference and students' use.  It was the intent of the instructional guide writing team to create and provide materials to supplement the resources teachers already have.  Where feasible, primary source materials have been included as well as accurate secondary source materials.
