MCPS Recognized in Virginia Index of Performance Awards

Montgomery County Public Schools, along with eight schools in the division, were recognized by the Virginia Department of Education in the Virginia Index of Performance (VIP) Incentive Program.

Blacksburg Middle, Gilbert Linkous Elementary, Kipps Elementary and Margaret Beeks Elementary were recognized with Board of Education Excellence Awards. This award recognizes schools that have met all state and federal accountability benchmarks and have made significant progress toward goals for increased student achievement and expanded educational opportunities set by the board. 

Blacksburg High, Christiansburg Elementary, Christiansburg Primary and Harding Avenue Elementary received a Board of Education Distinguished Achievement Award for meeting all state and federal benchmarks while making progress toward the goals of the governor and the board.

Montgomery County Public Schools is one of 15 school divisions across the state to receive the Distinguished Achievement Award for student achievement and progress.
