Montgomery County Public Schools will hold a community summit to launch the division’s strategic planning process. The summit will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at 6:00 pm at Christiansburg Middle School (1205 Buffalo Drive, Christiansburg). Members of the community are encouraged to attend.

During the community summit, participants will help identify school division initiatives that they believe should continue, initiatives that should be considered for abandonment, and new initiatives that the district should consider. The school system drives the community by providing productive, responsible citizens and by serving as an attractor for economic development. Community input on the future planning of the district is important.

The purpose of the strategic planning process is to identify the values, mission, and strategic
goals that will guide academic programming, support services, the selection and retention of a high-quality, diverse workforce, and continuing involvement with our families and the community. MCPS is working with Cambridge Strategic Services to facilitate an objective and reflective strategic planning process.

Every stakeholder’s voice is vital throughout the strategic planning process. The partnerships created throughout this process will create a common vision for the future of Montgomery County Public Schools.
