Dr. Lois Graham MCPS Interim Superintendent

The Montgomery County Public Schools Board has approved Dr. Lois Graham as the division’s interim superintendent.

Dr. Graham currently serves as an instructor at the Center for Organizational and Technical Advancement (COTA).

“I consider it an honor to serve Montgomery County Public Schools during this transition period,” Dr. Graham said. “I believe the school system is the heart of the community.  Having started my career here and having retired from the school system, I can attest to what an outstanding school system we have.  I look forward to collaborating with the staff, students, families, and community to ensure a seamless transition for a new superintendent.”

“We are excited to have Dr. Graham back in our school system,” MCPS School Board Chair Linwood Hudson said. “She is a veteran leader and educator, and I am confident that she will help guide MCPS through this transition.”

Dr. Graham previously served in MCPS in various positions, including deputy superintendent, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction and director of elementary education.

Dr. Graham will start her new position on Sept. 3, 2025.
