The MCPS Division Spelling Bee hosted nine spellers from MCPS elementary and middle schools. Setti Barrett-Musoke, from Blacksburg Middle School, is this year's champion. He will represent MCPS at the Regional Spelling Bee hosted at Radford University this spring.
The winning word: Valiant.
Abby Zhang from Kipps Elementary School is the division's alternate.
