MCPS is proud to announce a year of exceptional achievement across both athletics and academics for Blacksburg High School.
The Blacksburg Athletics program has been named the #1 school in Virginia by MaxPreps, recognizing the outstanding performance, dedication, and consistency of Bruins teams across all sports. This honor highlights the strength of the school’s athletic programs and the commitment of its athletes and coaches.
In addition to athletic success, Blacksburg’s Scholastic Bowl team has completed the most successful season in school history. The team captured its third consecutive VHSL state championship, demonstrating sustained excellence at the highest level of academic competition.
The team’s success has continued beyond the state stage, as they are currently making a record-breaking run on the “Battle of the Brains” television competition.
